CAREER

SUTTON COURT HOTEL/IT CENTRE PERSONNEL MANAGER

  • Worked in close partnership with Learndirect to ensure quality standards upheld
  • Personnel Manager to a staff of 60 plus employees
  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, development and welfare/discipline of all staff members, both employed and casual staff
  • Chief administrator of the company pension scheme involving day to day administration, and liaison with the pension provider to ensure accurate and up to date records were kept in line with current legislation
  • Responsible for making all 60 plus staff redundant adhering to employment law and government guidelines when the company closed
  • Project Manager role, working towards both Investors in People and ISO 9000, both which were successfully awarded to the Sutton Court IT Centre in 2001

SUTTON COURT HOTEL CONFERENCE AND RESERVATIONS MANAGER

  • Total responsibility for ensuring all 64 bedrooms, 9 conference rooms and 2 restaurants were sold to maximum capacity at all times
  • Liaison with travel agents, booking agents, local companies, local media and the general public in order to successfully market and promote the hotel and it's facilities
  • Responsible for recruitment, training, development, welfare and discipline of staff within the department
  • Overall responsibility for the external and internal organising of wedding fairs and other promotional events resulting in increased sales and bookings
  • In charge of corporate hospitality and networking to highlight the hotel's facilities
  • Event management within the hotel to oversee the smooth and successful running of all events
  • Complete responsibility for all hotel events from prior to the booking being made through to the successful completion of the function
